Foods to Avoid Right After Breast Augmentation
Many people may already understand that we should avoid certain types of food after surgery, whether the wound is small or large. Some foods can cause wounds to heal more slowly, while others may carry further side effects. Today we will recommend which foods you should avoid after breast augmentation.
rn
rnrnrn1. All kinds of fermented and pickled foods
rnrnThis is considered the very first food that is absolutely off-limits, or should be avoided as strictly as possible, because these foods often contain a lot of chemicals and toxins mixed in. For those who are allergic, or whose condition is not yet strong enough, eating them may harm the body while the wound is still healing. Fermented and pickled foods — whether pickled fruits, pickled vegetables, or even fish sauce — should be avoided for about 2 weeks; it is better to wait until the wound has fully healed before eating them again.

rnrnrn2. Liquor, spirits, beer, and all types of alcoholic beverages
rnrnIf you are someone who enjoys drinking, we recommend that you stop for now. You should abstain for about 2-4 weeks, whether before or after surgery, because these beverages make the body pump blood at a higher rate, which slows down wound healing and may cause the wound area to swell up again.

rnrnrn3. Seafood
rnrnSeafood — whether shrimp, shellfish, crab, or fish — should be avoided for about 2-4 weeks, because eating it may cause itching around the wound, and anyone who is allergic to seafood should avoid it altogether.

rnrnrn4. Eggs
rnrnEgg dishes such as boiled eggs, fried eggs, omelets, and fried-egg salad are not actually forbidden — it is only a matter of personal belief. Some people eat them, some do not, but there is still no guarantee that they are 100% safe to eat, so all in all we would recommend that avoiding them is the best course.

rnrnrn5. Strongly flavored food
rnrnVery spicy or intensely flavored food may stimulate the body to release sweat and nasal discharge, which can become contaminated with germs and come into contact with the freshly operated area, causing the wound to become inflamed. Although the effect is not large, if you can avoid such food during recovery, so much the better.

rnrnrn6. No smoking
rnrnAlthough this has nothing to do with eating, it carries quite considerable side effects. Those who are addicted to cigarettes should stop or quit smoking for at least 4 weeks both before and after surgery, because the substances in cigarettes destroy the cells that repair and heal wounds, and also reduce the blood supply nourishing the surgical area — risking that the operated skin becomes deprived of blood, making the wound heal slowly, and adding a risk of infection as well.
